Patient presented with a Class II jaw relation.

Previous dentures were set in Class I jaw relation, not following the plane of occlusion.

Facebow recordings are taken and case is articulated on Artex semi adjustable articulator.

First chrome finished in years

Occlusal view of mandibular 3D printed cobalt chrome.

I did not design the chrome, that was done by clinical dental technician, Steve Russell from Petone Dental Laboratory. All I had to do was finish the chrome. So that means I had to rubber wheel and high shine it. Not too bad for my first chrome finish in 25 odd years. I think I still have it.

I suppose I could still improve but I think job well done.

What anatomical considerations do we as dental technicians/technologists need take into account when starting with an inmmediate denture case

Denturism ... is there a future for this in the South African context

So, this field of dentistry called Denturism has hit South Africa a few years ago and it just seems as if it cannot get off the ground. Why is that?
Is it because there is not an interest from Dental Technicians to move into this career path? or is it that there is too much of a resistance from other areas within the dental field?

What is the view of the future dental technicians on this point?
Do you see a future for Denturism or Clinical Dental Technicians in our country?
