Damage on the anatomical area will result in the dental appliance fabricated from the primary model being inaccurate, thus won't fit properly. This will cause the patient pain and discomfort. The tuberosities are very good denture bearing areas.
If the anatomical areas are damaged on the model the appliance that is made onto the model will be made incorrectly because the model is not an accurate impression of the patient's mouth anymore. This will then cause the appliance to fit incorrectly in the patient's mouth and can then cause damage to the patient's oral tissues.
